For those who read me, whether here or in the Waterbury (Conn.) Republican-American, you’ll have noticed that I’ve been creating less. That’s been because I’ve been busy helping raise two young girls, one 3 years old and the other nearly 1. I knew that I’d have to make sacrifices, and interviewing brewers over a flight of beers seems like a small one compared to, you know, supporting life.

My wife and I have gotten into a routine now, so I’ve been able to carve out time to schedule interviews, purchase and consume beer, and put thoughts into words.

I recently interviewed Joe Ploof of Hanging Hills Brewing and Ben Braddock of Hog River Brewing. Both brewers had brick-and-mortar breweries in Hartford, and while they search for another “home,” they are contract-brewing (Hanging Hills at East Rock in New Haven, and Hog River at Thomas Hooker in Bloomfield). I hope you enjoy the piece when it comes out in the Republican-American.

  1. When might the Joe Ploof of Hanging Hills Brewing and Ben Braddock of Hog River Brewing interviews appear in the paper?
