This kind of personalized experience extends to the tour itself. As you navigate your way past the grain sacks and gawk at the Lasting Brass posters, brewer Ed Silva ushers you into the brew room. Next to six of the Lasting Brass display bottles, you get a chance to see the brewing vessels up close.

Brass City Brew Fest is Coming!

This Saturday, you have to get to the Brass City Brew Fest at Library Park in Waterbuy, Conn. If you like beer, enjoy friendly crowds, and are into experimenting with mass consumption, get your tickets today. It’s produced by and for the benefit of, Main Street Waterbury, a downtown revitalization program. It’s organized by Mountview Plaza Wine & Liquors.

Feel free to clip and save the Brew Fest Game and carry it with you for maximum enjoyment during the festival!

Buffalo Wild Wings is the kind of chain that could only have been thought up by college students with money to burn.

I stepped into one today for two beers and a dozen wings and was immediately swallowed up by the excess. There were more square feet of screen in this one restaurant (315 Union St., Waterbury, Conn.) than in five Circuit Cities. It was just a vast cavern of color and motion. If this was supposed to work up my appetite, it was having the opposite effect.

Alone, I sat at the bar. A very nice waittress noticed that I was counting the tap handles and commented on what a large selection they had. I agreed, and asked if she had anything local. Continue reading “Winged creature”
